Hello, my name is Abby!
Abby is a beautiful German Shepherd girl found after being put in the backyard of a vacant home for lease. She was found by someone who just couldn't leave her there to fend for herself, and took her home. The couple took Abby to two vets, who said her health is excellent, and they totally vetted her, and spayed her. She is friendly, happy and very very loving. If the couple weren't in their late 70s, they would keep her.
Abby sits (and raises her paw) on command, and goes and lays in her crate when directed, actually when you open the door! She loves her crate and sleeps in it every night with one of her toys or her natural dental bone. She loves to walk around the house with the 6-8 inch bone hanging out of her mouth like a cigarette. She is used to being crated if you have to be gone a few hours, and likes to have her glucosamine chew and a toy in the crate with her. She loves to be close to you, and will lay down by your feet when you sit down. She walks close to you, but on a leash she gets excited and likes to pull. A firm no will usually bring her back to you. She adores her big furry bone shaped toy and will carry it all over the house squeaking it. She also loves her rubber dumbell with notches on the ends. She lays down with it, and talks to it as she makes it squeak! She loves to have you throw one of her toys, and she will run to get it, and will usually lay it right at your feet. But sometimes she enjoys running to get it, and racing right by you, grinning, and then return and lay it at your feet! Abby also loves to chase squirrels and dance around the base of whichever tree the squirrel is in, but she never catches them.
Abby is used to having someone around the house a lot with her and would be an excellent dog for someone who is home more.
She loves to go with you for rides in the car. The minute you say "let's go for a ride", she heads right to the garage!
Abby is protective and will bark just enough to let a stranger know you are hers if she senses that you're uneasy with the person. If you're ok with the person, she's ok.
Abby just wants to be part of a loving family. She is a sweetheart, and deserves the best.
