Hello, my name is Dutchess!

Hi.  I would like to introduce myself.  My name is Dutchess and I was abandoned by my owners.  I’ll bet you are wondering why anyone would abandon such a beautiful girl like me.  Well, I got into a fight with my sister and was on the losing end.  I had to have stitches on the back of my neck and my face has some minor scars.  Mother nature has been very good to me and I am healing nicely.  However, my owners had to move away from the Houston area and, because my sister and I didn’t get along, my family took her and left me tied to a tree in the back yard.  Someone knew I was there and contacted GHGSDR.  When I saw the people enter the back yard to rescue me, I was so glad to see them.  My time being the non-favored dog is now over.  I can now stand on my own and shine like the sweet, beautiful girl that I am.

Since I am very new to the program, I am still being evaluated.  However, I can tell you that the volunteers I've met so far, and there were several, all say I am a beautiful girl with a very nice temperament.  I am not overly excitable and just want to feel secure.  This is a new beginning for me, and it feels good to be surrounded by people who really love and care about me.  Even though this new world feels good, there’s only one thing that will make me even happier.  Do you know what that is?  It’s meeting you and becoming your forever companion.  Hope we get to meet soon.
