Hello, my name is Fritz!

Hello, I am Fritz and you can see from my picture I am a very handsome boy!  I am about 3 - 4 years old.  My face and big ears are full of expressions, which gives you a good idea what I am thinking.  If you like to laugh, I have no problem providing you with plenty of that.  You’ll find I am a pretty easy-going guy and just enjoy being with people.  I get pretty attached to my foster family and have been known to whine if I see them petting strange dogs.  I’m your classic gorgeous German Shepherd and I bond well to my family members, but I also like being introduced to visitors so they can see how great a companion I am.  I like small children, but you may have to supervise because I forget to watch where I’m walking and may knock a child over.  With small dogs, I’m pretty curious, so it’s probably a good idea if I went to a home with dogs my own size.  I’ve not been introduced to cats, but I may react to them with the same curiosity as small dogs.  

My history is sad until recently.  I was found at the Baytown Animal Shelter.  I was very thin with little fur on my chest.  A nice family in Brenham, TX rescued me and brought me to good health.  I tested negative for mange and most of my fur has grown back.  There are just a couple bare spots left, but you can’t see them unless you really look closely at me.  I am on a raw diet.  I eat 1 pound of raw hamburger for breakfast, 1 pound of raw chicken at lunch, and 1 pound of chicken necks for dinner.  Converting me to a kibble diet is fine, it just may take a little while for my digestive system to adapt.
