Hello, my name is Guinness!
Cool name, hah! My angels say I am about 11 months old and my weight is 64 lbs.
If you are looking for a playful and exuberant best friend, and you are an active family, you may have just found your dog. With me being just barely past puppyhood, I am a perfect age for learning and have wowed my foster family many times with my fast learning ability. I still have all the playful clumsiness of a big puppy and keep everyone laughing at my antics when I play. I still need certain things in life, like lots of exercise. I love to jog, run next to bicycles and walk. If you rollerblade I bet I could master that as well in no time.
When I was first rescued I had been running free for a while. I was my own boss. Now that I am in a home that is providing me with loving structure and guidance through training and consistency, life is starting to make a little more sense every day. Think about it...if you go into someone's home, do you know their rules? For example - how am I to know that my front paws are not to be on the kitchen counter? I see your front paws are on the counter...right???????? Soooo...you need to teach me! And that is exactly what my foster family is doing. I do have to admit that they have their hands full because until they came took me off the streets, I knew nothing but life is good and lets all party like rock stars! Well, we all know that gets a bit overbearing at times, so I'm learning to be crate trained, learning basic commands, walking nicely on a leash and trying to learn doggie etiquette so maybe I can even start making friends. Here's a secret: I am getting better at it every day.
My foster parents think I would make a good sporting dog. When I was introduced to agility equipment I figured it out quickly and had great fun with it. Tennis balls are my favorite toy so Flyball might be a good sport for me. You should see me jump and catch one out of midair! There is no ball that is going to hit this pooch in the head!!
What I need most is a forever family who will continue to show me loving boundaries and keep me busy with learning and fun. If you think you can provide me with this type of home, please fill out an adoption application.
