Hello, my name is Java!

I bet I know what you're thinking!  Why would someone name a dog "Java!"?  If you take another look at my pictures, you will see that I have the colors of a nice cup of - you guessed it - Java!

Java hopes you like your coffee sweet--because she is one of the sweetest German Shepard Dogs her foster family has ever known!  When Java came to live in a house, she was pretty unsure about the whole arrangement!  It only took one day and night for her to settle in and act like family.  Java quickly earned the right to have full family benefits.  Her foster-sister, Roxie, has showed Java where the toy box is, and Java helps herself when she wants to play.  Since Java has started her heartworm treatment, Java mostly naps with Roxie close by.  Java spends her nights with her foster parents in their bedroom.  She sleeps through the night, curled up on the floor next to her foster Dad!!  Java's eyes are bright with love--she adores being petted and loves bellyrubs!  Just in case you think Java is the perfect "cup of Joe", she almost is--there are two things that we are working on.  Java thinks "counter surfing" is an Olympic sport!  We are mindful of where we leave food on the counter--not too close to the edge!  She is getting better and responded to our commands last week when we had steaks up there!  She had gotten into the cornbread a few nights before.  I didn't even know dogs liked cornbread!  Also, we are working on the command, "Come!"  Java is bright and has started basic obedience training.  We have fallen in love with this beautiful girl and know her forever family will find her to be a companion dog of a lifetime.
