Hello, my name is Jax! 

Hiya!  My name is Jax, and I'm a goofy, long-legged love of a dog.  My foster momma thinks I must have some hound in me because my legs are quite long and my ears flop over in the most adorable way!  They both lean to the right, so I always look like I'm standing in a stiff breeze. 

I live happily with a much bigger dog, 2 smaller dogs, 2 cats, and a chinchilla.  I love to play with my canine siblings, and I leave the cats alone (apart from an occasional sniff or two - they smell so interesting!)  I have never met a kid I didn't like, and I am quite a lover - I like to rub on new people's legs like a cat, and sometimes I get to lay on their laps if I'm invited on the couch.  I also try to chase my tail every now and then, but dad gummit, I can't ever catch the thing!

My perfect family would be one that appreciates my happy demeanor and good sense of humor and that will give me some playtime everyday - not just letting me out into the yard, but doing something fun with me like jogging, swimming, roller blading, hiking, or agility!  I am housetrained, doggie-door trained, and cratetrained, and my foster momma is even taking me through obedience class!  I hate to brag, but I'm kinda the star student in obedience class - I learn very quickly, and the teacher always uses me to demonstrate new behaviors to the rest of the class.  When I finish my obedience classes in mid-October, I'll be the envy of every doggie parent at the park.  I have already learned sit, down, go to bed, touch (targeting), off, come, kennel up, heel, stay, leave it, give paw, and wait.  I add new tricks every week, so I'll be sure to wow you when you come to visit me!

My foster momma is putting in all this extra time with me so that when you meet me, you'll see what a wonderful, deserving boy I am!  Won't you make room for me?
