Hello, my name is Lacy! More information coming soon!

Lacy came to GHGSDR ill and quickly deteriorating. The prognosis was not good (only a 50% chance of survival), but with the constant attentions of the veterinary staff and several GHGSDR volunteers, Lacy managed to pull through and is now fully recovered! People that see her say that Lacy is like the perfect miniature German Shepherd!

Lacy is a lady in every sense of the word - she is charming, sweet, and gentle, and always has a smile on her face and in her eyes. She even has a petite build to go with her feminine nature! She is closer in size to a cocker spaniel than she is to most shepherds, which makes her quite portable and cute! She will make a great family pet - she loves kids, she is very laid-back and happy, and she doesn't mind being "pushed and pulled" a bit. She already knows how to heel on a walk and rides beautifully and calmly in the car. Lacy has already learned many of her basic house manners, like learning that the couch is not a platform from which to leap! She is also housebroken! This eager learner has made quick progress, as all she wants to do is please her people. She gets along great with other pets (she has been with cats, big dogs, and a chinchilla) and loooooves being near people - she adores being loved on and stroked. She's a real cuddler. It took Lacy a while to learn what a toy is for, but now she and her new 100 pound Newfoundland friend at her foster home like to take turns grabbing them away and running from each other! She prefers the soft cloth toys over the rubber ones! And, very importantly, she is also very good about knowing what is a toy and what isn't! Her foster family has nothing but good things to say about this girl. The family that adopts Lacy is going to be very very lucky!
