Hello, my name is Nellie!
Hi, my name is Nellie. If you're looking for a canine always willing to please then I'm your girl! I may not be a full-blooded GSD but I definitely have the heart of one. Although no one knows anything about my past, I can tell you what my last few weeks have been like. What an adventure!
When I first got to my foster mom's house I was pretty wild. I'd never been in a car before and didn't know how to behave. It's embarrassing to say, but I was quite sick the first few times she took me out in the car. Now that I know a car means fun times, I'm much better! I used to lick shadows on the floor and chase after sunlight...but now I know better and I leave those alone. I jumped up on people all the time, and also the back door when I wanted to be let in the house. I was scared to be outside alone. I'm so glad I learned some manners and am not scared of the backyard anymore! I didn't know how to play with people or other dogs for the first few weeks, but I'm very smart; I've already learned how to play with my foster sister,'sit', 'down', 'stay', 'kennel', 'off', 'come', and am working on 'heel'. We're working on 'fetch' too, but mostly I just love to run after the ball. My foster mom thinks I would probably love agility work or obedience classes. I try very hard to figure things out and make everyone proud of me.
My favorite thing in the whole world is the child I look after here. I kinda hope my new family has children - they're adorable! I used to obsessively lick anyone near me, but now I calm down really quickly and flop down on my back for petting every chance I get. I already know that my backyard is mine, and am polite enough to warn my foster mom with a bark when I hear other noises too close to it. I think I'm housebroken since my foster family hasn't had to clean up any messes since I arrived, and I am crate trained. See how much I learned in such a short time?! I'm very proud of myself! If you have room in your home for a very smart motivated dog I promise to make you proud of me, too!
