Hello, my name is Shaza'am!

If you are looking for a handsome, good tempered, sweet natured guy, then look no further. Here I am!! I was found at an animal shelter and was within hours of being escorted on the long walk towards euthanasia when a volunteer came and looked at me. When I saw her, I was overjoyed and worked real hard at making a good impression. Well, it worked! She thought I deserved to be saved and took me into the program. If you compare me to other rescues who are found emaciated and dirty, I’m on the other side of the spectrum. Wherever I came from, I was well fed and well taken care of. I have a thick, shiny, black coat and it was in good condition when I was found and I am not underweight. I’m not a tall german shepherd, but have a strong, solid build. My temperament is gentle and sweet, and mixed with the remnants of puppyhood. What a great combination for laughter, joy and companionship. I promise to keep you entertained and smother you with kisses. If you buy me some toys, there will be no end to the fun we can have.

In my past life, I must have received some obedience lessons because I respond well to leash/collar corrections for commands such as sit, down, and heel. Taking me for a walk is a very enjoyable experience. I’m not a puller. Instead I respond well to little tugs on the leash and frequently look back at you to make sure I’m ready for your next command. When it’s time to have fun, I love to romp and play and sometimes don’t realize I still have a “puppy brain”. Even though I know some basic commands, I sometimes forget them when we are playing and I play like a puppy. Jumping on you is something that I’m still learning to control. Because I’m so excited to be with you, sometimes my “puppiness” takes over and I forget my manners. Since I already respond well to basic obedience commands, teaching me not to jump when we play won’t be hard.
