Hello, my name is Trooper!

Are you looking for a sweetheart of a guy?  Let me introduce myself!  I am Trooper and it’s hard not to fall in love with me!  I am a very handsome, confident, calm and gentle boy. And a lover! I give a new definition to the term, “easy-going”.   And, did I mention I’m also very handsome?  I am a full sable German Shepherd with beautiful markings.  I love being with people and readily share kisses.  I’m not stingy at all with my affection.  I'm fine with small dogs, cats, large dogs, and children.  All I want is to be with you!  I wouldn’t consider myself a submissive dog, but I’m not alpha either.  I’m just “one of the pack” and I bond quickly to people.  I was recently taken to someone’s home and given a bath, which I really needed, to prepare me for a GHGSDR event.  I surprised her with my good manners and kisses.  I didn’t get overly excited, however, I did shake a lot, so it was good that the sun was shining!  She got pretty wet, but we had fun together!   I like being offered treats and you will find I have a gentle mouth.  Obedience training would be a good idea for me, as I’m a big dog (80+ lbs.) and need to learn sit, down, stay, and heel.  You will find I’m pretty smart and started learning the “sit” command during a recent GHGSDR event.  When walking on a leash, I walk very close and like to touch your leg.  Don’t worry, I won’t trip you, I just like being close.  Crating is something new to me, so I will need your patience as you introduce it to me.  You will need an extra strong crate for me because of my size and strength. I really like to get in the car and go for a ride! Sometimes when I know a walk or ride is coming, I will jump to say, "OK! Let's go!!"

Devotion is one of my strongest characteristics.  Even in the short time I was with the lady who bathed me and took me to the GHGSDR event, I got very attached to her.  I did not want her out of my sight and whined for her when she left me for a few minutes.  She even admitted out loud that she felt the same way about me.  That really made my day and I showered her with kisses every time she bent down to scratch my chest! 

I am a big boy with a wonderful thick coat and tail with lovely feathering on it.  I also have sparkling eyes! If you are thinking about adding a German Shepherd companion to your home, won’t you consider me?  I would love to meet you!!
